Nelson First Congregational United Church of Christ Fund

Designated

The Nelson First Congregational United Church of Christ Fund supports the ongoing expense of maintaining this historic church landmark.

Registered as a state and national Historic Site, the church building was designed by William LeBaron Jenney and dedicated on December 11, 1892.  The church's architecture and fixtures feature elaborate detail and extraordinary workmanship. The hand carved pews were made in Manistee. The clock tower holds a Nels Johnson Century Clock, which is still in working order.  Additionally, the church contains forty one stained glass windows, two of which are from the studio of Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Thanks to the establishment of the Nelson First Congregational United Church of Christ Fund, the Church's beauty and craftsmanship will be preserved for generations to come.
