Minger Family Endowment Scholarship Fund

Scholarship

The Minger Family Endowment Scholarship Fund was established through the generosity of Forest R. Minger, Jr. who established the fund through an estate gift to the Foundation.  The endowment will provide a lasting source of support for assisting Manistee County students with paying for the cost of higher education.  Scholarships will be paid to the student's academic institution and may be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, supplies and other expenses incurred for educational expenses. Scholarships will be awarded annually from the Fund using the following selection criteria.

Students of any Manistee County high school who are pursuing a degree or certification at any two or four-year accredited college, university or vocational/technical school.

Preference will be given to students who are pursuing specific fields of study including engineering, science, medical, or computer science, but awards will not be limited to these fields of study.

        Students must demonstrate financial need.

A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher is required and preference will be given to students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
