The Community Response Fund was activated to provide support to area nonprofit organizations, schools, and governments on the front lines serving those most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Established through a cooperative effort between the Manistee County Community Foundation, United Way of Manistee County, and the Manistee County Human Services Collaborative Body, the Community Response Fund provides a collective vehicle for charitable giving and supports collaborative grantmaking and programming in response to COVID-19.

The Community Response Fund assures contributors that their donations will be used to quickly move resources to where they are most needed and to adapt to evolving needs. The flexibility of the fund will ensure that the community will be able to respond to immediate and future needs that are not being met by existing nonprofit, local, state and federal programs.

As we make supporting our most vulnerable and disproportionately affected community members our priority in this unprecedented time, there are no administrative fees assessed to the fund. The funding partners are covering the cost of the staff leading and facilitating this effort so that 100% of proceeds to the fund will be awarded through grants to support the needs of our community.

Representatives from the Manistee County Community Foundation, United Way of Manistee County, and the Manistee County Human Services Collaborative Body, in consultation with public health professionals, will respond to funding requests from the Community Response Fund. The partners are closely monitoring communications from our local Health Department and response teams to stay informed as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.
