Over the years, the Community Foundation has helped to create and fund numerous projects that improve the lives of those who live in Manistee County. Our interest areas encompass all aspects of life including youth and education, arts and culture, the environment, health and human services, recreation, community development, and more.
The MCCF Grant Program is supported by multiple funds, some of which are flexible in purpose and others that support particular aspects of life. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the List of Grant Program Funds to learn more about each fund, supported purposes, and any specific eligibility criteria or grant requirements, which may vary by fund. Organizations apply online using a Common Grant Application Form and are considered for all Grant Program Funds for which they may be eligible.
Eligible applicants include tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, school districts, and units of government, including federally recognized tribes. Support may also be considered for religious institutions. Projects must be located in Manistee County, unless pre-approved by the Community Foundation, and benefit residents of Manistee County. Interested applicants may review the MCCF Grant Program Guidelines for detailed information about grant program eligibility and application requirements.
Interested applicants should review the Grant Program Guidelines and List of Grant Program Funds to help determine if the proposed project may be a fit for the Community Foundation’s Grant Program.
Complete a simple Grant Inquiry Form. We will respond to your inquiry within two weeks to let you know if your project meets our guidelines. Eligible applicants will be provided a link to our Grant Application Portal. Submitted applications will be considered during the next open Grant Cycle. Note: Applicants will need to create an account prior to beginning an application. An account enables applicants to save their work along the way and complete the application in more than one session as needed.
Invited applicants must complete and submit a Common Grant Application through the Grant Application Portal prior to an application deadline. Responses should be scaled to the complexity of the project.
A completed Project Budget Form is required.

Note: If a Grant Application Deadline falls on a weekend, the grant application will be due the following Monday.
Requests of $5,000 or less for recreational projects are considered on a rolling basis and funding decisions are typically made within 45 days.
